The Villa Mairea was designed by architect Alvar Aalto and built in Noormakku, Finland between 1937-1940. This house was commissioned by Harry Gullichsen and his wife Maire. They specifically asked for their residence to be designed as an experiment in modern architecture and lifestyle.
