This drawing is inspired by the facade of the National Theatre on the Southbank in London designed by Denys Lasdun and completed in 1976.
Brutalism championed material honesty and expressed function through form. The bold concrete forms and subsequent dark pockets and shadows created are a signature look of brutalist structures.
