"Look, Chalmers, let's understand each other... I don't like you." - Lt Frank Bullitt
Bullitt was filmed entirely on location in and around San Francisco in late April 1968 by director Peter Yates. The film is best remembered for its near 11 minute car chase sequence through the streets of the city, considered one of the most influential in film history. The city's unique hilly topography has become as famous as the films leading character, Lt Frank Bullitt, and his 1968 Ford Mustang.
This is Kearny Street and the Peter Macchiarini Steps. The street can be found between Broadway and Vallejo Streets. The steps commemorate the San Francisco modernist sculptor and jeweller and make a brief appearance in the movie.
